Knitted a Perfect Baby Hat

This is designed by the Lovely Heidi aka ruthshands. She designed it out of desperation to find a hat that would actually fit a newborn. The yarn of this one is Berroco Comfort color way 9808.

This was also my first project made with double pointed needles.

Just have to show off my DD's wonderful talent!

This is Knitted from a book called World of Knitted Toys.
She only started knitting September 17th, 2008 so I am blown away at how well she did with such a advanced pattern. This is a christmas gift for one of her brothers.

I finally got brave and started...

My first official Knitted project. It is a bogga bag.

I couldn't do it without my dd's wonderful help though. :)

Learning to Knit

My dd and I had some friends of hers come over and give us knitting lessons.

Just learning. The yellow block is mine and the white is dd 18s.
And yes I know that I dropped 2 stitches.

We had 2 girls teaching us. Unfortunately this is as far as they can take us. And they didn’t know how to pick up a dropped stitch. So I will look for online tutorial. But it was sooooo helpful to have someone right their saying no your doing it wrong. Her like this…. :)

Teach Yourself to Knit

I am trying to teach myself how to knit. These sites were recommended by a friend. I have found the 3rd one very helpful. Thought some other's of you might like them also.

Here are a few sites to try:

http://www.helloknitty.com/videoinstr.htm

http://www.knitnet.com/common/support/caston.htm

http://www.knittinghelp.com/

http://www.woolfestival.com/articles/videoinstruction.htm

http://www.anniesattic.com/knitting/content.html?type_id=S

Get some straight needles in size 8 or 10 (good medium sizes) and some inexpensive yarn from Walmart, Hobby Lobby, etc and have fun! Teach yourself to cast on, knit, purl and cast off and you can make sweaters, blankets, scarfs, etc!!
